HOW I AM SURVIVING QUARANTINE
With covid-19
everyone around are forced to shut themselves inside their house making it
difficult to get in contact with your friends, family or even colleague and in
this experience I have come out no different, confined to a limited space can
be uncomfortable, after few day it can really start you to affect
you mentally and emotionally, this experience wasn’t very different for me but
staying with my family made it easier as a journey, I would be lying if I said
I got used to it quickly, it took me more than a month to get used to the
entire situation and here’s how I am surviving quarantine.
First things
first with all this negativity around creating positive energy is a must and I
was able to do this with constant gratefulness and gratitude towards God, which
really helped me to be more hopeful. Throughout the quarantine I personally
have grown towards spirituality I have read the book and listened to the audio
book of Bhagvat Gita which has made me realize true reason of our existence.
Second thing that helped go through is sports, having a nice open terrace really gives you an advantage, every evening I would come to the terrace along with my brother, mom and two other kids from our apartment and play badminton, in 3 months I had learned how to play badminton to an extent that I can even manage to play with my left hand. Sometimes I just spending time on the terrace and watching the sun go down and listening to your favorite playlist which can be so relaxing and calming. In this period I have also made quarantine friend not human being to be particular they are cats, who wander around our apartment and ever since the lock-down has started I have been feeding them milk everyday.
Spending most
of my time indoors, then board game or a card game is must, I have so learned
so many different card games (except poker) to a point I have come to master
them, this is also the time when most of family interaction has happened, which
gave so much emotional support and of course house chores keeps me busy almost
half a day and while doing this I picked up some new skills like cooking,
chopping, frying, painting, gardening, learning about new ingredients and experiment with it.
By then end of
three months I leaned more towards yoga, throughout my life I have experimented
with different fitness routine, out of all of them yoga is the way to go. On a
recent note my online classes have restarted with more enthusiasm and work
which keeps be busy for an entire week, which can be really exhausting sometimes
and very recently I have started gardening it is fun and looking forward to
making a complete terrace garden.
Thank you all
for reading through the end I just want to say one last thing for everyone who
were able to survive this unwelcomed change, for people who had to do this
alone or if you were/ are stuck somewhere and couldn’t get back to your family,
home or to your loved ones, for people who have lost someone dear in this
pandemic, I am sorry I am truly sorry that you had to go through something like
this but I am also grateful and glad that you were strong through these times
it takes a lot of courage and mental stability to hold yourself together is
such situation and now you know you are way more capable than you think, and it
is okay if you hardly getting through the situation that you might be facing
but that also take a lot of willingness, cause you can’t get through if you are
not willing to get past it.
