THRIFT VS INDIA

In last few years in India there has been more awareness about thrift and up-cycle fashion the point is to use your recourses properly, I have been shopping from online thrift store and my experience has been great it have helped me to find my sense of style by finding different variety of clothing in more reasonable price.

In India wearing 2nd hand clothing or selling 2nd hand clothing is  not considered good or as you may say not very cultural and of course when I say India I don't speak the entire population, everyone has a different opinion but in most of the families this might not be appropriate and it is understandable, I remember speaking about buying 2nd hand clothing to my mother as she was not very happy but did not oppose, this is defiantly a very foreign concept to them but at the same time I feel this is also the future of clothing, knowing that fashion industry is one of those industries that creates the most land fill, able to re-use the clothing and  able to move around the market is potential future for clothing and the market but also knowing very well that fashion market is vast and thrifting hardly hold the percentage on being a big market, this of course is not statement thought it can be right or completely wrong, either way I don't know what future hold and will probably see it as it unfolds.

people say thrift is completely sustainable, well I don't completely agree with being sustainable is long term practice and maybe that why feel one individual is not completely sustainable but obviously this an open argument.

to be very frank I am myself don't know a lot these are just my thoughts from my observation.

let me know what you think about thrifting and I will see you in my next blog
